For a Repub political ‘flame-thrower’ party, we recommend napalm-lite with essence of strawberry, or a floral scent – but only for the sophisticated.  For the ‘trashy’ … let them whiff diesel.

Word to the Wise: To tax the rich, let them eat each other. Such a delicious spectacle.[/January 2023 crashes through the New Year’s gate with a spectacular Republican Double-Header featuring TWO incestuous family feuds of their own making:

• Jan 3 2023 > Electing the new Speaker of the House for the 118th Congress
• Jan 25 2023 > Electing the new Chair of the Republican National Committee

The vile wind of fire and word will erupt like the tongues of Hades. To foe – and foe alike.

In this New Year, both contests will exhibit the severe political hangover created by the 2016-2022 ‘anything-goes’ Trump party of crime and punishment. Unbelievably, the significant Republican losses are not blamed directly on Trump, but rather on Keven McCarthy and Ronna McDaniel –  his proxies in the House and the RNC. Thus, there are formidable counter-Trump insurgencies agitating for change in both contests.

The Democrats are thrilled with the political chaos and mayhem since it will showcase the worst impulses of the Republican party (if they can get any worse!?) doing nothing but fighting over power and money – the country and the Americans that elected them – be DAMNED.

Of course the news media are also salivating, as they will have ringside seats to the orgy of this blood-sport spectacle. They will hardly have the time to breathe between dispatches.  Let the Republican games begin. Loose the demons.

No doubt this Republican January will start out looking and sounding like 2 big fat rich kids fighting over cake under a blanket, and end with a scorched earth apocalypse of the all-or-nothing flavored-napalm flamethrower politics now the hallmark of the 2023 Republican Party.  For the post-Gingrich and (almost) post-Trump CON-servatives, the undertakers bill will be the shackles they wear for the 118th Congress.

The ‘new’ Republicans include a regiment of die-hard election deniers to join the famous Sedition Caucus (“Just leave it to me and the Republican congress”. paraphrase p. 386, Jan6 Report) ready and waiting for their indictments. But politics for them is not for reasonable governance of their constituents, but what they can gain by kleptocracy, grifting and gang violence.  Very corporate (and Republican!), don’t you think?

Bring on the revolution promised by the Tea Party, Newt Gingrich and Donald Trump.  No lie is too big, no grift is too small (as long as it’s at least weekly).

THE FIRST JANUARY CONTEST

January 3+ 2023 > Electing the new Speaker of the House for the 118th Congress

Political performance art is on the Coliseum marquee. Raise the curtain for the opening act – Election of a Republican for Speaker of the House. Assemble the gladiators for the salute to Emperor Trump.  See our post, DJ ‘Tricky Trump’ and his PAC Money Million$. Their words will be their weapons.  Even more deadly when stabbed through the back.  And … even more profitable for the news media!

Any Republican Speaker will have to govern like a mob boss … for as long they last. ‘Families’, capos, consiglieres, soldiers – they have them in spades.  Advice to the new Speaker, “Keep the swamp lobbyists’ money flowing, but don’t turn your back.”

The outcome of this political napalm-scorched earth and battle royale will read directly on the Second January Contest – election of the next Chair of the Republican National Committee.

THE SECOND JANUARY CONTEST

January 25-27, 2023 > Electing the new Chair of the Republican National Committee

The Republican National Committee (RNC) is the general management organization for the Republican Party. It is guided by a set of Rules adopted or revised at the periodic Republican National Conventions. The Chairperson is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the RNC.  The RNC winter meeting is scheduled for January 25 – 27, 2023, at the Waldorf Astoria in Dana Point, California.

Ronna McDaniel has been the chairperson of the Republican National Committee since 2017. Previously she held positions as Michigan State Chair and National Committeewoman. She is up for re-election at the Winter Meeting for another 2 year term.  But this election has been amplified by several voices who blame her for the steady Republican losses at the ballot box:

• 2016 – Trump won the Presidential electoral votes, but lost the popular vote by 3 million – not a landslide!! But rather a first tremor of the ‘red earthquakes’ to follow – soundly ignored
• 2018 – Republicans lost the majority in the House of Representatives
• 2020 – Republicans lost the White House and the Senate
• 2022 – Republicans won only 222 seats in the House of Representatives, with 213 going to the Democrats. Just the reverse of the 2020-2022 117th Democrat Congress.

NOT the “Red Wave” loudly predicted by Kevin McCarthy and bolstered by their ‘self-serving’ pollsters!! Rather, it was a full on “Red Earthquake” with dozens of their ultra-right candidates falling into the “sinkhole of ignominy” they created. Self-immolation is becoming a Republican specialty.

The common denominator in all of the losses since 2016 has been Donald Trump, the January 6 2021 coup attempt, 2 impeachments, numerous investigations and his endless grievance-for-grift machine.

The RNC Napalm Insurgency: A Political Exorcism of the Demon Trump, but the Devil is in the Details

To “right” the ship, it will take nothing less than a political exorcism to remove demon Trump from the RNC.  But that may not be enough as there is an insurgency to take the RNC even further ‘right’, if that is possible.
